Merland Park’s 4th Annual Ice Fishing Derby is set for January 25, 26 & 27, 2013. The number of sponsors is growing, the prizes are coming in and the cottages are being booked! Proceeds going to the Kiwanis Club’s Terrifc Kids Program again this year.

The County Gazette wrote an article on Merland Park when NHLer Mike Fisher and Tim Brent were at the park filming a segment of  the Canadian Sports Fishing TV show with Italo Labignan.

The Quinte Sports Review’s Martin Durkin wrote an article on Merland Park and Pete Bowman, co-host of Fish’n Canada, who likes to spend his time at Merland Park whether it is to film an episode for his show or vacationing in his free time.

This beautiful 11.5 lbs Brown Trout was caught on Mother’s Day while out on a charter with customers.  They brought this one home to have it mounted!

The park was full for the Annual Merland Park May Opener/Kiwanis Walleye World Fishing Derby held on the May 4-6 weekend. The weather was awesome and it was great to see all the action back out on the water. Top Pike brought in was 16.6 lbs and the top Walleye weighed in at 11.5 lbs.

This beautiful 9 lbs Lake Trout was caught early Saturday Morning on Easter weekend.
